9. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Showrunner Vivienne Medrano's boldly transgressive mature musical show, which sprang from a fan-funded pilot, fully came into its own in its second installment. Building on the game-changing events of season 1, the story expands considerably, following the ambitious TV demon Vox who seizes command of the situation, sparking a chain of ever-more explosive conflicts that naturally culminate in show-stopping song.

Although it might not have a one viral hit quite like season one's "Loser, Baby," this is due to everything in this season being more ambitious. The action, personal development, and above all the score and songs are collectively more sophisticated. The story advances the overarching plot forward while providing plenty of bizarre, unhinged, and simply entertaining fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

As a successor to the legendary Netflix show, Daredevil: Born Again had enormous shoes to fill. Despite significant development issues, the resulting product demonstrates it was worthy of the wait. The story follows Matt Murdock after his secret identity as Daredevil is exposed, making him vulnerable to foes both history and present in a slightly take of his well-known setting.

The first episode is a thrilling return to form, capturing the intense tone audiences loved from the original incarnation. Although the subsequent episodes venture into certain new narrative ground, the season finishes powerfully, setting fans keenly awaiting a second installment.

7. Common Side Effects

A surprising 2025 highlight, this series could be described as a crime saga filtered through a sensibility of King of the Hill.
