In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed speech don't think I can make the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a gulf air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing assistant".

These messages were published on Wednesday together with more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by matching the dates, events, and locations mentioned.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as Trump's closest aides in the run up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein prior to his death and allegedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast recently, he said: "We're going to publish the series, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier occasionally appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A short time before the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Discussed in Exchanges

The released messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this day with Nigel, Johnson and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled British leader at the period, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think remaining as much as you can in the UK. Ideal- so others see the commitment of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa May survive". Bannon answered: "I don't see how however the guys here have little courage" and noted "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was eventually removed in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of no confidence in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told the BBC: "Farage has never been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should release all its records concerning its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was renewed this week after the publication of over 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those mentioned Trump, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
