NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary of Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the NFL season and following recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved good to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing extra pass rushers but they could position two linebackers in the interior before withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted on a program how Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up big and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows how Denver are a squad aiming to run first, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, plus he's highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to pass while moving, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can throw precision throws across the middle or past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you consistently rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a championship and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the West.

This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
